Your fleet carbon data checklist
Prepare your UK fleet carbon assessment with a practical checklist for vehicle data, mileage provenance, powertrain and reporting periods.
Start with the fleet boundary
Write down which vehicles the review covers and the reporting period. Keep the same boundary in mind when you later compare results. A changed fleet is not automatically a more efficient fleet.
Gather the vehicle information
Collect vehicle type and powertrain: battery electric, plug-in hybrid, petrol, diesel or non-plug-in hybrid. Note whether a type-approval g/km figure is recorded, where the method uses it.
Make distance provenance visible
For each vehicle, identify contracted annual mileage where available. Otherwise record the odometer and vehicle age needed for an annual estimate. If neither is usable, label the 8,000-mile annual default rather than silently filling the gap.
Keep the method alongside the result
A figure should carry its unit, period, distance source and powertrain treatment. Keep the method version and factor source available so someone else can follow the calculation.
Bring questions, not personal data
For your first enquiry, fleet size and your main priorities are enough. Agree a suitable way to share detailed records with our team separately. Do not put driver information or registrations into the public contact form.
