You do not need perfect data to start a conversation. You do need to be clear about its limits.
Establish the data you have.
Vehicle information, powertrain and annual distance form the starting point. Contracted mileage, odometer-derived estimates and defaults must be distinguishable.
Understand the carbon picture.
Apply the appropriate powertrain method. Make the period, units, sources and method version visible. Battery electric vehicles are zero-tailpipe; grid electricity is counted.
Choose practical actions.

Build evidence over time.
