Make every journey earn its place.

A practical journey-efficiency guide for fleet managers: review avoidable mileage, planning and evidence before making fleet carbon savings claims.

Start with the purpose

Kinetic’s first question is simple: what does this journey achieve? Review duplicated visits, repeat trips and avoidable movement. Some journeys are essential; others may be changed through scheduling or coordination.

Review a representative period

Look across a period that reflects normal operations rather than one unusually quiet week. Note the constraints: customer windows, loads, service needs and driver working patterns.

Choose one testable change

Consider whether a small scheduling change or combined visit could remove unnecessary mileage. Record the starting position, the change and what actually happened. Do not assume a planned saving is a measured saving.

Keep service and safety in view

A lower mileage figure is only useful if the operating plan still works for the people and customers involved. Review the practical effect with the team responsible for the journeys.

Separate journey learning from annual claims

A local journey review can inform decisions. A GreenTurtle year-on-year carbon claim still needs the required historic snapshot and a clear explanation of scope and assumptions.

Based on the supplied GreenTurtle Standard v1 and design-system README. Practical review suggestions are guidance, not a guaranteed product feature or savings claim.
