How the number is made
This calculator follows the same principle as the rest of GreenTurtles: you can see the source of each factor and what has been assumed.
Source
Factors are taken from the UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting 2026 (DESNZ), published 11 June 2026 (flat file updated 31 July 2026). Each figure is total CO2e, including methane and nitrous oxide. See the official publication.
Scope
Cars (by size and fuel), motorbikes, taxis, buses and coaches, rail, flights and hotel nights. Taxi, bus, rail and flight factors are published per passenger-km, so miles are converted to kilometres. Hotel factors are only published for some countries, so only those are listed.

The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is saved, uploaded or shared, and no cookies are used. Download the CSV if you want to keep a copy.
